Col 1:23 says the gospel was preached to every creature under heaven, so what Christ spoke in Matt 24:14 in regards to preaching the gospel was done by the time that Colossians was written. Col 1:23 Be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard and which was preached to every creature under heaven.
When it comes to reading Revelation it’s important to understand that the words “whole world” in Rev 12:9 and Rev 16:14 are talking about the Roman world, not the planet.
The English New Testament comes from the Greek New Testament, therefore the truth is found in the Greek text, if the English New Testament agrees with what the Greek text says, then the English translation is the truth.
There are errors in every English Bible due to the translators not translating words correctly, and because of those errors, many people have been led to believe things about the New Testament that are false.
The Greek word, “oikoumene” for the words “whole world” in Matt 24:14, Rev 12:9, and Rev 16:14, is referring to the Roman world, not the planet.
When that truth is understood, then the reader can see that the New Testament wasn’t written for our time period, that Matt 24:14 doesn’t say the gospel has to be preached to everyone on the planet and then the planet will be destroyed, and that Revelation wasn’t written after AD 70.
Rev 1:1 says that the things written in Revelation are to happen quickly, Revelation was written to only 7 churches (7 groups of people) that were in Asia that were alive during the time that Revelation was written, therefore Revelation is not about our time period.
Revelation was written before the destruction of Jerusalem, Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70.
Rev 1:1 – [This is] the revelation of Yeshua Christ [his unveiling of the divine mysteries]. God gave it to Christ to disclose {and} make known to His [God’s] bond servants certain things which must shortly {and} speedily come to pass in their entirety.
Rev 1:1 makes it very clear that everything that is written in Revelation happened after Christ was resurrected, therefore nothing in Rev 12 is about before the creation of man, or about before Christ was born, that means that the woman is Rev 12 is not Mary, the child is not Christ and the devil, satan isn’t a fallen angel.
Rev 1:4 John to the seven assemblies (churches) that are in Asia
Rev 1:11 Write promptly what you see (your vision) in a book and send it to the seven churches {which are in Asia}–to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.
Rev 1:4 and Rev 1:11 make it very clear that Revelation is only for the 7 churches that were in Asia that were alive during the time that Revelation was written, therefore Revelation is not about our time period.
Rev 4:1 – After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard addressing me like [the calling of] a war trumpet said, Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the future.
“The future” that is spoken of in Rev 4:1 isn’t about the future in regards to our time period, the future is in regards to John’s time period.
Revelation talks about things that happened before Jerusalem was destroyed, talks about the destruction of Jerusalem, talks about the day of the Lord that happened after Jerusalem was destroyed, and talks about the new world system that 2 Peter 3:13 talks about, that happened after the day of the Lord.
The tribulation that is spoken about in Matt 24:21 happened when Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70, the day of the Lord happened immediately after Jerusalem was destroyed, and after the day of the Lord, God created the new world system that is spoken of in 2 Peter 3:13.
So, when we put Matt 24:14 together with Revelation we can see that Revelation is talking about the same thing that Christ spoke about in Matt 24.
Matt 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world [oikoumene – Roman world] for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end [of the age] come.
The “end” that is spoken of in Matt 24:14, is the “end of the age” that is spoken of in Matt 24:3.
The Greek word for the word “world” in Matt 24:3 is “aion” or “age”, the word “aion” or “age” is referring to a time period, the word “aion” is not referring to the entire planet.
The end of the “age” that is spoken of in Matt 24:3 is the end of the age of the law, the age of the law ended when the temple was destroyed in AD 70.
The term “last days” in the New Testament refers to the time period between the time that the gospel was preached to the Jews and to the Roman world, up until the time that the temple was destroyed. We are not in the last days.
Col 1:23 says the gospel was preached to every creature under heaven, so what Christ spoke in Matt 24:14 in regards to preaching the gospel was done by the time that Colossians was written
Col 1:23 – Be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard and which was preached to every creature under heaven.
Rev 7:14 talks about the “tribulation” that Christ spoke about in about in Matt 24:21, Rev 7:14 proves the truth that Revelation was written before AD 70, and Rev 11:2 talks about the destruction of Jerusalem before it happened, Rev 11:2 proves Revelation was written before AD 70.
Matt 24:21 – For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now–no, and never will be [again].
Rev 7:14 – I [John] replied, Sir, you know, And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb [Christ].
Rev 11:2 – Leave out the court which is outside the temple & don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations; & they will tread under foot the holy city (Jerusalem) for 42 months.
Lk 21:6 & Lk 21:20 are talking about the destruction of Jerusalem. The “tribulation” that is spoken of in Matt 24:21 is the destruction of Jerusalem.
It took the Romans three and a half years (42 months) to destroy Jerusalem.
Lk 21:6 – As for all this that you [thoughtfully] look at, the time will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.
Lk 21:20 – But when you [the disciples] see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know {and} understand that her desolation has come near.
Matt 24,29-30 is talking about the day of the Lord, the “tribulation” that is spoken of in Matt 24:29 is the destruction of Jerusalem, the day of the Lord was to happen immediately after Jerusalem was destroyed.
Matt 24:29 – Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Matt 24:30 – Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn {and} beat their breasts {and} lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory [in brilliancy and splendor].
Matt 24:34 – Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things [the destruction of Jerusalem and the day of the Lord] take place.
The statement, “this generation will not pass until all these things take place” in Matt 24:34 is referring to the time period of the disciples, it is not referring to our time period, we are not that generation, we are not in the “last days”.
Now, onto Rev 12:9. Rev 12:9 is talking about the Roman world, the dragon is Rome, the devil, satan in Revelation is Rome, not a fallen angel. The leaders of Rome deceived the whole Roman world that’s what Rev 12:9 is saying.
Rev 12:3 – Then another ominous sign (wonder) was seen in heaven [the sky]: Behold, a huge, fiery-red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven kingly crowns (diadems) upon his heads [Rome].
Rev 12:4 – His tail swept [across the sky] {and} dragged down a third of the stars and flung them to the earth. And the dragon [Rome] stationed himself in front of the woman who was about to be delivered, so that he might devour her child as soon as she brought it forth.
Rev 12:5 – And she brought forth a male Child, One Who is destined to shepherd (rule) all the nations with an iron staff (scepter), and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne.
Rev 12:6 – And the woman [herself] fled into the desert (wilderness), where she has a retreat prepared [for her] by God, in which she is to be fed {and} kept safe for 1,260 days (42 months; three and one-half years).
Remember, it took the Romans 42 months to destroy Jerusalem, Rev 12:6 is talking about the time, during the time that Jerusalem would be destroyed, before it happened. Rev 12:6 proves Revelation was written before AD 70.
Rev 12:7 – Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels [messengers] went forth to battle with the dragon [Rome], and the dragon [Rome] and his angels [messengers] fought.
The Greek word for “heaven” in Rev 12:7-8 is singular, which means that Rev 12:7-8 is not talking about “the heavens” (the place where God dwells), in the heavens there is no sin, the Bible makes that very clear, so Rev 12:7-8 can’t be talking about a war between a sinful angel and Michael the Archangel that happened in the heavens.
Ps 103:20 says “angels obey God”, therefore none of the angels (celestial beings sinned).
Ps 103:19 – The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.
Ps 103:20 – Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word.
Ps 10:21 – Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, all you His hosts, you His ministers who do His pleasure.
Rev 12:8 But they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon [Rome] was cast out, that old serpent [the deceiver], called the devil [false accuser], and satan [adversary], which deceiveth the whole world [oikoumene – Roman world], he was cast out to the earth [the land, and his angels [messengers] were cast out with him.
The serpent in Genesis deceived Eve, the dragon (Rome) was a deceiver that is why the dragon is called “that old serpent” in Rev 12:9. Rev 12:9 isn’t saying “the dragon was the serpent that deceived Eve”, remember Rev 4:1 says that all of this was to happen in the future of John’s time period, therefore nothing in Rev 12 is talking about before the creation of man, or about before Christ was born.
Now, onto Rev 16:14, just like Rev 12:9, Rev 16:14 is talking about the Roman world, not the planet.
Rev 16:12 – Then the sixth [angel] emptied his bowl on the mighty river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to make ready a road for [the coming of] the kings of the east (from the rising sun).
Rev 16:13 – And I saw three loathsome spirits like frogs, [leaping] from the mouth of the dragon [Rome] and from the mouth of the beast [the Roman Empire] and from the mouth of the false prophet.
Rev 16:14 – For really they are the spirits of demons that perform signs (wonders, miracles). And they go forth to the rulers {and} leaders all over the world [oikoumene – Roman world], to gather them together for war on the great day of God the Almighty [the day of the Lord].
In regards to the word “demon”, or “demons” in the New Testament, the word for “demon” in Greek is neuter gender, this is important to understand, because the Greek word for “angel”, or “angels” is masculine gender in the New Testament, that means that “demons” are not fallen angels & that means, “the spirits of demons” in Rev 16:14 aren’t fallen angels.
So, now that we know that the devil, satan in Revelation is Rome, then the devil that is spoken about in Rev 20 is Rome, not a fallen angel. Rome is thrown into the lake of fire in Rev 20:10, and the ungodly people who are spoken about in 2 Peter 3:7 that are to be destroyed by fire, are the people who are in the lake of fire that are spoken of in Rev 20:15.
Rev 20:1 – Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold of the dragon [Rome], the serpent of old [the deceiver], who is the devil [false accuser] and satan [adversary], and bound him for a thousand years;
Rev 20:3 – and he threw him into the abyss, and shut {it} and sealed {it} over him, so that he [Rome] would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.
Rev 20:7 – When the thousand years are completed, satan [Rome] will be released from his prison,
Rev 20:10 – And the devil [Rome] who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast [the Roman Empire] and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Rev 20:15 – And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The ungodly people who are spoken about in 2 Peter 3:7 that are to be destroyed by fire, are the people who are in the lake of fire that are spoken of in Rev 20:15.
Rev 21-22:5 speak of the new heavens and new earth (the new world system) that is written about in 2 Peter 3:13.
So, Revelation is a prophecy about what was supposed to happen before Jerusalem was destroyed. Revelation is a prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem. Revelation is a prophecy about the day of the Lord that happened after Jerusalem was destroyed, and Revelation is a prophecy of the new heavens and earth that are written about in 2 Peter 3:13.
Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70, that means that everything in Revelation has already happened.
The truth is, Revelation was not written about our time period, Revelation was written to only seven churches in Asia that were alive during the time that Revelation was written (Rev 1:4 & Rev 1:11).

Since Rev 1:4 and Rev 1:11 say Revelation is written to 7 churches in Asia, then the “churches” that are spoken of in Rev 22:16 are the 7 churches that the book is written to and no one else.
Revelation was written before AD 70, that means that everything in Revelation has already happened.
Anyone that says Revelation is about our time period is adding to the book, Rev 22:18 is a warning to anyone that adds to the book.
Rev 22:18 – I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;
Rev 22:19 – and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.
Rev 22:20 – He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Yeshua.
The teaching that says, “the tribulation” hasn’t happened” is false.
The teaching that says, “the day of the Lord hasn’t happened” is false.
The teaching that says, “the gospel has to be preached to everyone on the planet, and then the planet will be destroyed” is false.
The teaching that says, “Revelation was written after AD 70″ is false.
