Lk 21:24 Proves The Tribulation Happened When Jerusalem Was Destroyed

Lk 21:24 they will fall by the edge of the sword, & will be led captive into all the nations; & Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the nations until the times of the nations are fulfilled.

Luke 21:24 proves the truth that the “tribulation” that is spoken of Matt 24:21 is the destruction of Jerusalem. Jerusalem was destroyed in 70AD, therefore the tribulation has already happened.

Matt 24, Mark 13 & Luke 21:6-36 all speak of the tribulation.

In Luke 21:6 the Christ says the temple will be destroyed,

In Luke 21:7 the disciples ask the Christ what the sign will be when the temple is about to be destroyed.

In Luke 21:20 the Christ says what that sign will be

Luke 21:24 describes the tribulation that the Christ speaks of in Matt 24:21.

Luke 21:5 – And as some were saying of the temple that it was decorated with handsome (shapely and magnificent) stones and consecrated offerings [laid up to be kept], he [the Christ] said,

Luke 21:6 – As for all this that you [thoughtfully] look at, the time will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.

Luke 21:7 – And they [the disciples] asked him, Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when this is about to occur?

Luke 21:20 – when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know {and} understand that her desolation has come near.

Luke 21:21 – Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are in the midst of her [Jerusalem] get out, and let not those who are out in the country come into her [Jerusalem];

Luke 21:22 – For those are days of vengeance [of rendering full justice or satisfaction], that all things that are written may be fulfilled.

Luke 21:23 – Alas for those who are pregnant and for those who have babies which they are nursing in those days! For great misery {and} anguish {and} distress shall be upon the land and indignation {and} punishment {and} retribution upon this people.

Luke 21:24 describes the tribulation that the Christ speaks of in Matt 24:21.

Luke 21:24  – They will fall by the mouth {and} the edge of the sword and will be led away as captives to {and} among all nations; and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the nations [heathen world] until the times of the nations [heathen world] are fulfilled (completed).

Matt 24:21 – For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now–no, and never will be [again].

In Matt 24:14 the “end” that is spoken of is the end of the age of the law, the end of the age of the law happened after the temple was destroyed, the temple was destroyed in 70AD.

In Matt 24:14 the Greek word for “world” is referring to the Roman world, the gospel had to be preached to the Roman world and then the end of the age of the law would happen, Colossians 1:23 says that the gospel was preached to every creature under heaven, therefore everything in Matt 24, Mark 13 & Luke 21:6-36 has already happened.

Matt 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the Roman world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Matt 24:34 – Truly I tell you, this generation (the whole multitude of people living at the same time, in a definite, given period) will not pass away till all these things taken together take place.

In Matt 24:34 the generation that is spoken of is the generation of the disciples.

Col 1:23 – If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

The teaching that says, “the tribulation hasn’t happened” is false, the New Testament was not written for this time period.

Matthew 24:14 & Revelation 12:9 are both about the Roman world, here is a link to my post that will explain more about that https://bornfromabove7.wordpress.com/2014/09/17/matt-24-isnt-about-the-end-of-the-planet/

And here is a link to my post that will explain why Matthew 24:29-30 isn’t talking about the end of the planet https://bornfromabove7.wordpress.com/2014/09/21/matt-2429-30-isnt-about-the-end-of-the-planet/

Matt 24:29-30 Isn’t About The End Of The Planet

Matt 24:29-30 is about the Lord’s judgment that will happen after Jerusalem is destroyed, Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD. Matt 24:29-30 is not speaking about the end of the planet.

The words that are spoken in Matt 24:29 are a picture of judgment, the stars won’t literally fall from heaven, Yeshua the Messiah is using words that the disciples knew come from the Old Testament, that describe judgment.

Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

Matthew 24:29 is symbolic for judgment, for the vindication of the new covenant over the old covenant, and their respective members, and the Messiah’s new reign

The combined imagery of sun, moon and stars reflects complete political entities. Yeshua’s prediction refers to nothing more or less than the judgment upon the nation of Israel.

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

Ezekiel 32:6-8 I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee. And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the LORD.

In Matt 24:30 the statement “and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven” is referring to Daniel 7, the Messiah spoke that statement to the disciples because he knew that they would understand that he was speaking the words that are written in Daniel 7, that describe judgment.

Matt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son man came with the clouds of heaven

Matt 24:29-30 is speaking of the Lord’s coming judgment that would happen after Jerusalem was destroyed, the destruction of Jerusalem is the “tribulation” that the Messiah speaks of in Matt 24:21, Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD. Matt 24:29-30 is not speaking about the end of the planet.

Here is a link to my post that will explain more about the “tribulation” that is spoken of in Matt 24 https://bornfromabove7.wordpress.com/2014/09/17/matt-24-isnt-about-the-end-of-the-planet/

A Christian Believes The Tribulation Has Already Happened

To understand about the tribulation that is spoken of in Matt 24:21, one must first read Matt 24:1-3

Matt 24:1 – And the Messiah went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple

24:2 – And the Messiah said to them, do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here shall be left upon another, which will not be torn down

24:3 – And as the Messiah was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying. ‘tell us, when these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming, and the end of the age?

In Matt 24:3, the disciples are asking the Messiah about the things that he spoke of in Matt 24:2, they are not asking him about the end of the planet, “the end of the age”, is the end of the age of the law, that age ended when the temple was destroyed.

In Matt 24:3, the question, “what will be the sign of your coming, and the end of the age?”, is referring to the Messiah’s coming judgement on Jerusalem, once the temple was destroyed, the age of the law ended.

The “tribulation” that the Messiah speaks of in Matt 24:21 happened during the destruction of Jerusalem, the temple was destroyed during the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70, therefore the “tribulation” has already happened.

Matt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be

Matt 24:34 – Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

A Christian is someone that is led by the Holy Spirit, no one led by the Holy Spirit will ever say, “The tribulation hasn’t already happened” because that doesn’t agree with the truth that is written in the Bible. No one led by the Holy Spirit will ever say something that does not agree with the truth that is written in the Bible.

If someone claims to be Christian and says something that is not true, the person is not led by the Holy Spirit, the person is led by the flesh, those who are led by the flesh are not the children of God.

Romans 8:14 – For as many as are led by the Spirit of God [the Holy Spirit], they are the children of God.

In the world today there are many people that claim to be Christian that say it is ok for there to be different denominations in the church, that it is ok for a Christian to believe something different than what another Christian believes, but the Bible does not support different denominations in the church, 1 Corinthians 1:10 says that the church is supposed to believe the same thing.

1 Cor. 1:10 – But I urge {and} entreat you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, that all of you be in perfect harmony {and} full agreement in what you say, and that there be no dissensions {or} factions {or} divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your common understanding and in your opinions {and} judgments.
