God Doesn’t Love Everyone Equally

Rom 9:13 Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. God didn’t love Esau the same as Jacob, so the Christian teaching that says God loves everyone equally is false.

The Greek word for “hate” in Romans 9:13 is miseó, that word means, denounce; to love someone or something less than someone (something) else, i.e. to renounce one choice in favor of another.

For many years I believed the teaching that says, “God loves everyone equally”, because that is what the majority of people that claim to be Christian teach, but that teaching doesn’t agree with the Bible.

Rom 9:13  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Rom 9:14  What shall we conclude then? Is there injustice upon God’s part? Certainly not!

Rom 9:15  For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion.

Rom 9:16  So then [God’s gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God’s mercy. [It depends not on one’s own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God’s having mercy on him.]

Rom 9:17  For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, I have raised you up for this very purpose of displaying My power in [dealing with] you, so that My name may be proclaimed the whole world over.

Rom 9:18  So then God has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills.

Rom 9:19  You will say to me, Why then does God still find fault {and} blame us [for sinning]? For who can resist {and} withstand His will?

Rom 9:20  But who are you, a mere man, to criticize {and} contradict {and} answer back to God? Will what is formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus?

Rom 9:21  Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same mass (lump) one vessel for beauty {and} distinction {and} honorable use, and another for menial {or} ignoble {and} dishonorable use?

Rom 9:22  What if God, although fully intending to show [the awfulness of] His wrath and to make known His power {and} authority, has tolerated with much patience the vessels (objects) of [His] anger which are ripe for destruction?

Rom 9:23  And [what if] He thus purposes to make known {and} show the wealth of His glory in [dealing with] the vessels (objects) of His mercy which He has prepared beforehand for glory,

Rom 9:24  Even including ourselves whom He has called, not only from among the Jews but also from among the Gentiles (heathen)?

Rom 9:25  Just as He says in Hosea, Those who were not My people I will call My people, and her who was not beloved [I will call] My beloved.

Rom 9:26  And it shall be that in the very place where it was said to them, You are not My people, they shall be called sons of the living God.

Rom 9:27  And Isaiah calls out (solemnly cries aloud) over Israel: Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sand of the sea, only the remnant (a small part of them) will be saved [from perdition, condemnation, judgment]!

Rom 9:28  For the LORD will execute His sentence upon the earth [He will conclude and close His account with men completely and without delay], rigorously cutting it short in His justice.

Rom 9:29   It is as Isaiah predicted, If the LORD of hosts had not left us a seed [from which to propagate descendants], we [Israel] would have fared like Sodom and have been made like Gomorrah.

Rom 9:30  What shall we say then? That the Gentiles [Heathens], which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith [God’s divine persuasion].,

Rom 9:31  Whereas Israel, though ever in pursuit of a law [for the securing] of righteousness (right standing with God), actually did not succeed in fulfilling the Law.

Rom 9:32  For what reason? Because it was not by faith [God’s divine persuasion], but as by works. They stumbled over the Stumbling Stone [Christ].

Rom 9:33  As it is written, Behold I am laying in Zion a Stone that will make men stumble, a Rock that will make them fall; but he who believes [is persuaded by God to believe] in him [Christ] [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on him, is persuaded by God to believe Yeshua is the Messiah] never will be put to shame.

Romans 9:13-33 makes it very clear that it is God who makes the choice in who is born of the Spirit (born from above) and who is not.

Romans 9:13-33 shows why God had the Messiah (Christ) say, “no one can come to me unless it has been granted from God” (John 6:65).

Those who come to Christ have been chosen by God to come to Christ, because they are loved by God, and because they are loved by God, God persuades them to believe that His Son, Yeshua is the Messiah (Christ), and by that faith (God’s divine persuasion) they don’t practice sin, which means they are born from above (born of the Spirit).

Those who are born from above, have no choice in being in born from above, because they have been chosen by God to be born from above (born of the Spirit), long before God had them be born of man & woman.

Jn 1:12  But to as many as did receive {and} welcome the Messiah, he gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) his name [to those who believe he is the Messiah]

Jn 1:13  Who owe their birth neither to bloods [natural birth, born of man & woman] nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]

Prov 16:9  The mind of man plans his way, but God determines his steps.

Jn 6:65  No one can come to me unless it has been granted from God.

1 Tim 6:3  if anyone teaches otherwise and does not assent to the sound {and} wholesome messages of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah (Christ) and the teaching which is in agreement with godliness (piety toward God),

1 Tim 6:4  He is puffed up with pride {and} stupefied with conceit, [although he is] woefully ignorant. He has a morbid fondness for controversy and disputes {and} strife about words, which result in (produce) envy {and} jealousy, quarrels {and} dissension, abuse {and} insults {and} slander, and base suspicions,

1 Tim 6:5  And protracted wrangling {and} wearing discussion {and} perpetual friction among men who are corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, who imagine that godliness {or} righteousness is a source of profit [a moneymaking business, a means of livelihood]. {From such withdraw.}

Rom 16:17  I appeal to you, brethren, to be on your guard concerning those who create dissensions and difficulties {and} cause divisions, in opposition to the doctrine (the teaching) which you have been taught. [I warn you to turn aside from them, to] avoid them.

Rom 16:18  For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites {and} base desires, and by ingratiating and flattering speech, they beguile the hearts of the unsuspecting {and} simpleminded [people].

2 Jn 1:9  Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what he taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has both the Father and the Son.

2 Jn 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine [is disloyal to what Yeshua the Messiah taught], do not receive him [do not accept him, do not welcome or admit him] into [your] house or bid him Godspeed {or} give him any encouragement.

2 Jn 1:11  For he who wishes him success [who encourages him, wishing him Godspeed] is a partaker in his evil doings.

Only those who believe God’s Son, Yeshua is the Messiah (Christ), that don’t practice sin are God’s chosen people (born from above).

No one has to say a prayer, confess sin, or be water baptized to be born of the Spirit.

To be born of the Spirit (born from above), a person first has to believe God’s Son, Yeshua is the Messiah, and then, God willing, God will baptize the person in the Holy Spirit, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person stop practicing sin.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is the repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:16-18), without the baptism in the Holy Spirit nobody belongs to God.

Only those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit are Christian.

John 3:8  The wind blows (breathes) where it wills; and though you hear its sound, yet you neither know where it comes from nor where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit [born from above].

1 Jn 5:1  Whoever believes Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God [born of the Spirit].

1 Jn 3:9  No one born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God [born of the Spirit].

1 Jn 5:18  We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God [born of the Spirit] does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [Christ’s divine presence (the Holy Spirit) within him who is born of God preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [the spirit of the natural man] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].

In the world today there are many people that claim to be Christian that say, “God loves everyone equally”, but that teaching doesn’t agree with the Bible.

A Christian is someone that is led by the Holy Spirit, no one led by the Holy Spirit will ever say, “God loves everyone equally”, because that doesn’t agree with the Bible. No one led by the Holy Spirit will ever say something that doesn’t agree with the Bible.

If someone claims to be Christian and says something that doesn’t agree with what Christ taught, the person is not led by the Holy Spirit, the person is led by the flesh, those who are led by the flesh are not the children of God.

Romans 8:13 – For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

Romans 8:14 – For all who are led by the Spirit of God [the Holy Spirit] are the children of God.

In the world today there are many people that claim to be Christian that say it is ok for there to be different denominations in the church, that it is ok for a Christian to believe something different than what another Christian believes, but the Bible does not support different denominations in the church, 1 Corinthians 1:10 says that the church is supposed to believe the same thing.

1 Cor. 1:10 – But I urge {and} entreat you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, that all of you be in perfect harmony {and} full agreement in what you say, and that there be no dissensions {or} factions {or} divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your common understanding and in your opinions {and} judgments.
