Jude 1:6 Isn’t Talking About Fallen Angels

In order to see who the angels are that are spoken of in Jude 1:6, one has to read Jude 1:5. The angels in Jude 1:6 are the people that God destroyed after He saved them from Egypt, that did not trust in Him.

Jude 1:4 – For certain men have crept in stealthily [gaining entrance secretly by a side door]. Their doom was predicted long ago, ungodly (impious, profane) persons who pervert the grace (the spiritual blessing and favor) of our God into lawlessness {and} wantonness {and} immorality, and disown {and} deny our sole Master and Lord, Yeshua the Messiah.

Jude 1:4 is talking about the false church.

Jude 1:5 I – Now I want to remind you, though you were fully informed once for all, that though the Lord [God] [at one time] delivered a people out of the land of Egypt, He subsequently destroyed those [of them] who did not believe [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him].

The “angels” that are spoken of in Jude 1:6 are the people that God destroyed in Jude 1:5, Numbers 16:30-33 talks about how those people were destroyed.

Jude 1:6 And the angels [masculine] which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Numbers 16:30 – But if the Lord [God] causes a new thing [to happen], and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up, with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into Sheol (the place of the dead), then you shall understand that these men have provoked (spurned, despised) the Lord [God] !

Numbers 16:31 – As soon as Moses stopped speaking, the ground under the offenders split apart

Numbers 16:32 – And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households and [Korah and] all [his] men and all their possessions.

Numbers 16:33 – They and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol (the place of the dead); and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly.

The angels that are spoken of in Jude 1:6 are the people that God destroyed in Numbers 16:30-33.

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities [feminine].

In Jude 1:8 the Greek word for “dignities”, “doxa” is feminine,  the Greek word for angel is masculine, therefore the “dignities” in Jude 1:8 are not angels.

The church is the bride of Christ, therefore the church is feminine, the “dignities” that are spoken of in Jude 8 are the church.

Jude 8 is talking about men that speak evil of the church.

The “devil” that is mentioned in Jude 1:9 is man, not a fallen angel.

In Jude 1:9 men speak evil of the church, in Jude 1:10 Michael the archangel does not accuse the devil [man], Jude 1:10 is saying the same thing as 2 Peter 2:11 in regards to angels not accusing people.

2 Peter 2:11 – Whereas [even] angels [masculine], though superior in might and power, do not bring a defaming charge against them [masculine] before the Lord.

The word “them” in 2 Peter 2:11 is referring to men that speak evil of dignities (the church) in 2 Peter 2:10.

Jude 1:9 – But when [even] the archangel Michael, contending with the devil [false accuser], judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not [presume to] bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, The Lord rebuke you!

Jude 1:10 – But these [men] speak evil of those things which they know not [dignities]: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

In Jude 1:10, the Greek word for the word “these” is masculine, therefore the word “these” in Jude 1:10 is referring to men.

The statement, “things which they know not” in Jude 1:10 is referring to the “dignities” that are spoken of in Jude 1:8, Jude 1:10 is speaking about the men that speak evil of the church (dignities) that are spoken of in Jude 1:8.

Jude 1:11-19 is talking about the men that speak evil of the church, that are spoken of in Jude 1:8. The men that speak evil of the church are the false church, the false church are the men that are spoken of in Jude 1:4.

Jude 1:11 – Woe to them! For they have run riotously in the way of Cain, and have abandoned themselves for the sake of gain [it offers them, following] the error of Balaam, and have perished in rebellion [like that] of Korah!

Jude 1:12 – These are hidden reefs (elements of danger) in your love feasts, where they boldly feast sumptuously [carousing together in your midst], without scruples providing for themselves [alone]. They are clouds without water, swept along by the winds; trees, without fruit at the late autumn gathering time–twice (doubly) dead, [lifeless and] plucked up by the roots;

Jude 1:13 – Wild waves of the sea, flinging up the foam of their own shame {and} disgrace; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of eternal darkness has been reserved forever.

Jude 1:14 – It was of these people, moreover, that Enoch in the seventh [generation] from Adam prophesied when he said, Behold, the Lord comes with His myriads of holy ones (ten thousands of His saints)

Jude 1:15 – To execute judgment upon all and to convict all the impious (unholy ones) of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed [in such an] ungodly [way], and of all the severe (abusive, jarring) things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

Jude 1:16 – These are inveterate murmurers (grumblers) who complain [of their lot in life], going after their own desires [controlled by their passions]; their talk is boastful {and} arrogant, [and they claim to] admire men’s persons {and} pay people flattering compliments to gain advantage.

Jude 1:17 – But you must remember, beloved, the predictions which were made by the apostles (the special messengers) of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

Jude 1:18 – They told you beforehand, In the last days (in the end time) there will be scoffers [who seek to gratify their own unholy desires], following after their own ungodly passions.

Jude 1:19 – It is these who are [agitators] setting up distinctions {and} causing divisions–merely sensual [creatures, carnal, worldly-minded people], devoid of the [Holy] Spirit {and} destitute of any higher spiritual life.

It is often said that the Book of Jude is talking about fallen angels, that teaching is false, the truth is, the Book of Jude is talking people that speak evil of the church.
