The Lord Opens The Heart To Believe

It’s often said by many that claim to be Christian that those who accept the Christ, choose by their own freewill to open their heart to accept the Christ, but Acts 16:14 doesn’t agree with that teaching.

Acts 16:13 – And on the Sabbath day we went outside the [city’s] gate to the bank of the river where we supposed there was an [accustomed] place of prayer, and we sat down and addressed the women who had assembled there.

Acts 16:14 – One of those who listened to us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a dealer in fabrics dyed in purple. She was [already] a worshiper of God, and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul.

Acts 16:15 – And when she was baptized along with her household, she earnestly entreated us, saying, If in your opinion I am one really convinced [that Eashoa is the Messiah and the Author of salvation] {and} that I will be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay. And she induced us [to do it].

Acts 16:14 says that the Lord opened Lydia’s heart so that she could accept the Christ (the Messiah).

Acts 16:14 proves the truth that the teaching that says, “those who accept the Christ, choose by their own freewill to open their heart to accept the Christ (the Messiah)”, is false.

The truth is, there is nothing that anyone can do to be born of God.

The truth is, it is God that does all the work, God persuades a person to believe Eashoa is the Christ, and then God willing, God will baptize the person in the Holy Spirit, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person stop practicing sin, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person born of God.

Only those who believe that Eashoa is the Christ that stop practicing sin are baptized in the Holy Spirit (born of God).

1 Jn 5:1 – Whosoever believes that Eashoa is the Christ is born of God.

1 Jn 3:9 – No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God.

1 Jn 5:18 – We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God [born of the Spirit] does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [the Christ’s divine presence (the Holy Spirit) within him who is born of God preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [the spirit of the natural man] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].
