2 Peter 3:9 Is A Word Only For The Church

2 Pet 3:1 proves 2 Pet 3:9 is a word for the church. 2 Pet 3:1 This 2nd letter, beloved I now write unto you. The “beloved” is the church, so in 2 Pet 3:9 the word “you” is referring to the church.

The Lord’s promise that is spoken of in 2 Peter 3:9 is for the church, not the world.

2 Pet 3:1 – This second letter, beloved (the church), I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance

2 Pet 3:9 – The Lord isn’t slow about his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you (the church), not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

The church are only the people that believe Yeshua is the Messiah that no longer practice sin, they no longer practice sin because they are baptized in the Holy Spirit, being baptized in the Holy Spirit is what makes a person stop practicing sin, being baptized in the Holy Spirit is the repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:16-18).

Acts 11:16 And I [Peter] remembered the word of the Lord, how he used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Acts 11:17 Therefore if God gave to them [the non-Jews] the same gift [the Holy Spirit] as {He gave} to us also after believing in the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?

Acts 11:18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the non-Jews also the repentance {that leads} to life.”

Those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit are the “few that find the narrow way that leads to life” that the Messiah speaks of in Matthew 7:14.

The “many” that the Messiah speaks of in Matthew 7:13 are the people that believe Yeshua is the Messiah that don’t stop practicing sin because they are not baptized in the Holy Spirit, those are the people that the Messiah says he will deny, in Matt 7:23.

Matt 7:13 Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.

Matt 7:14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

1 Jn 5:1 Whosoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God.

1 Jn 3:9 – No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God.

1 Jn 5:18 – We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God [born of the Spirit] does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [Christ’s divine presence (the Holy Spirit) within him who is born of God preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [the spirit of the natural man] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].
