Adam Was The Serpent That Deceived Eve

It’s often said that the dragon in Revelation is the serpent that deceived Eve, but that can’t be true, because everything in Revelation is about after Christ’s resurrection (Rev 1:1).

Revelation was written about the future during John’s time, therefore nothing in Rev 12 is about before the creation of man, or about before Christ was born. Rev 12:9 & Rev 20:10 cannot be used to say the dragon was the serpent that deceived Eve.

Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in [the] heaven [the sky]; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

The Greek word “ourano” for “heaven” in Rev 12:3 is singular, that means that the word “heaven” in Rev 12:3 is not talking about the place where God dwells, instead it is talking about the “sky”, if the Greek word were plural then that would be talking about the place where God dwells.

Rev 12:3 is a description of Rome.

The Bible doesn’t support the teaching that says, “the devil, satan is a fallen angel,” therefore the “dragon” in Revelation is not a fallen angel, the “dragon” is Rome.

Rev. 12:9  And the great dragon [Rome] was cast out, the ancient serpent [the deceiver], called the devil [false accuser], and satan [adversary], which deceives the whole world [oikoumene – the Roman world], he was cast out to the earth [the land], and his angels [messengers] were cast out with him.

The Greek word “oikoumene” for the words “whole world” in Rev 12:9 is referring to the Roman world, it is not referring to the entire planet. Rev 12:9 is saying the dragon (Rome) deceives the Roman world, Rev 12:9 is not saying the dragon (Rome) deceives everyone on the planet.

The Greek word “” (ghay) for the words “the earth” in Rev 12:9 is referring to “land”, it is not referring to the entire planet.

Rev 1:1 makes it very clear that everything in Revelation was to happen quickly, and that everything that is written in Revelation is about things that happened after Christ’s resurrection, therefore nothing in Revelation 12 is about before the creation of man, or about before the birth of Christ.

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Yeshua Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass [take place in quickness]

The Greek word “tachei” for the word “shortly” in Rev 1:1 means “quickness, speed, hastily, immediately”

Rev 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in [the] heaven [the sky]! And the first voice which I had heard addressing me like [the calling of] a war trumpet said, Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the future [take place after these things].

“After these things” in Rev 4:1 is referring to after what Rev 1-3 says.

Everything that happens after Rev 4 in Revelation is a prophetic word for the seven churches about their future, not our future.

So, now that we know that the dragon in Revelation is not the serpent, we can now go back to Genesis to find out who or what the serpent was that deceived Eve.

God gave man rule over all the animals that God created.

Gen 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

Gen 1:28 God blessed them [Adam & Eve]; and God said to them [Adam & Eve], “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

God gave man rule over everything that He created, that means that the serpent in Genesis 3 isn’t superior to man.

In Genesis 2:17 God tells Adam that Adam will eat of the tree, God doesn’t say, “if you eat of the tree”, God says, “for in the day that you eat of the tree”. God knew that Adam would not obey God, and the reason why God knew that, is because God made Adam disobey God, for God’s purpose. (Is 46:9-11).

Gen 2:17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you [Adam] shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.

Is. 46:9 [Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me

Is. 46:10 Declaring the end {and} the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure {and} purpose.

Is. 46:11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east–the man [Cyrus] who executes My counsel from a far country. Yes, I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed it, and I will do it.

Adam knew that he was not supposed to eat of the tree, Eve did not disobey God, Adam disobeyed God. Adam was tempted by his own desires that came from the flesh (James 1:14), it was the flesh that made Adam sin, and God made that happen for His purpose.

Sin entered the world through Adam (Rom 5:12), not Eve.

James 1:14 Everyone one is tempted when he or she is drawn [dragged] away by his or her own desire and enticed.

James 1:15 Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.

Rom 5:12 Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man [Adam], and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned.

A serpent is someone who is a deceiver. Adam became the serpent as soon as he deceived his wife.

Eve wasn’t tempted by the serpent, Eve was deceived by the serpent, deception is not temptation.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, `You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?

Notice, the serpent says, “you” in Gen 3:1, and Eve says, “we” in Gen 3:2.

Gen 3:2 The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat:

Gen 3:2 shows that Eve is talking to Adam when she says, “we” & Gen 3:6 confirms that Adam is the one talking to Eve, Eve ate of the fruit first and then Eve gave it to her husband who was with her.

Gen 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make {one} wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

Eve was deceived, she was not tempted.

God created Adam before Eve, Adam was the one that named all of the animals that God had created (Gen 2:19), the only reason why Eve knew to call the serpent, a serpent, is because Adam had to have told his wife that it was called a serpent.

Gen 2:19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought {them} to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.

2 Cor. 11:3-5 says that a serpent is a deceiver, the serpent was not a snake when it deceived Eve, Gen 3:14 confirms that truth.

2 Cor. 11:3-5 proves the serpent is not a fallen angel. Anyone that says they are from God who does not speak the truth that God had the Apostles speak is just like the serpent that deceived Eve. Rome was a deceiver, therefore the dragon (Rome) in Revelation is “the ancient serpent”.

2 Cor. 11:3  But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity {of devotion} to Christ.

2 Cor. 11:4  For [you seem readily to endure it] if a man comes and preaches another Yeshua [Christ] than the One we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the [Spirit] you [once] received or a different gospel from the one you [then] received {and} welcomed; you tolerate [all that] well enough!

2 Cor. 11:5  Yet I consider myself as in no way inferior to these [precious] extra-super [false] apostles.

The New Testament never says a serpent is a fallen angel, but the New Testament does say a serpent is human.

Matt 10:16 Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be wary {and} wise as serpents, and be innocent (harmless, guileless, and without falsity) as doves.

Matt 23:33 You serpents! You spawn of vipers! How can you escape the penalty to be suffered in hell (Gehenna)?

Luke 10:19 Behold! I have given you authority {and} power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you

The enemy that is spoken of in Luke 10:19 is the spirit of the natural man, not fallen angel.

God gave man rule over all the animals that God created, therefore the serpent cannot be an animal, the serpent is man.

The Bible never says God told Eve not to eat of the tree, Adam was the serpent that deceived Eve.

Gen 3:15 And I [God] will put enmity between you [the serpent (Adam)] and the woman, and between your [the serpent (the natural man’s) offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise {and} tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait {and} bruise His heel

An animal cannot have human children, therefore the serpent that God is talking to in Gen 3:15 is not an animal, the serpent is Adam.

Those who believe God’s Son, Yeshua is the Messiah (the Christ) that stop practicing sin, are of the woman’s seed, and those who practice sin are of the serpent’s seed.

The serpent that God is talking to in Gen 3:14 is an animal, but the serpent that God is talking to in Gen 3:15 is Adam. The serpent’s seed is the seed of Adam, the serpent’s seed isn’t the seed of an animal, the children of the flesh (the natural man) are the serpent’s seed, the children of the natural man are not the children of God (Rom 9:8)

Gen 3:14 And the Lord God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all [domestic] animals and above every [wild] living thing of the field; upon your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust [and what it contains] all the days of your life

Rom 9:8 They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

After Adam falsely accused God for his (Adam’s) sin, Adam became the false accuser (devil), the word devil means “false accuser.”

Gen 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom You [God] gave to be with me–she gave me [fruit] from the tree, and I ate.

The devil (false accuser) is man, Adam is the natural man, the devil (false accuser) sinned from the beginning, Adam was in the beginning, Cain was of the devil (false accuser), Cain was Adam’s son, both Cain and Abel were Adam’s sons, Cain was of the seed of the serpent (the natural man), and Abel was of the woman’s seed, the woman’s seed are all who are persuaded by God to obey God, Abel was persuaded by God to obey God, Cain was not.

Heb 11:4 By faith [God’s divine persuasion] Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks

The Greek word for “faith” in Heb 11:4 is “pistis”, “pistis” is “God’s divine persuasion.”

There is a teaching that says Eve had sex with the serpent and that is how Cain was born, that teaching says that the serpent is a fallen angel, Eve did have sex with the serpent, but the serpent wasn’t a fallen angel, the serpent was Adam, Gen 4:1 confirms the truth that Cain is the son of Adam and Eve.

Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

Gen 4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

1 Jn 3:8 He that commits sin is of the devil [false accuser (the natural man)]; for the devil [false accuser (the natural man)] sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil [the false accuser (the natural man)].

Cain murdered Abel, Cain was of the natural man and Abel was persuaded by God to obey God.

1 Jn 3:12 not as Cain, {who} was of the evil one [the devil, the natural man] and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous

The children of the devil (false accuser) are the children of the flesh (the natural man), the natural man (Adam) lied to his wife when he said to her “you shall not surely die” (Gen 3:4), and then Adam murdered his wife spiritually by deceiving her into eating the fruit, therefore the devil (false accuser) that Christ speaks about in Jn 8:44 is the natural man (Adam), not a fallen angel.

Jn 8:44 You are of {your} father the devil [false accuser (the natural man)], and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own {nature,} for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The natural man disobeyed God, therefore the natural man (flesh and blood) cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 15:50), that’s why man must be born from above (born of the Spirit) to inherit the kingdom of God.

Jn 3:3 Christ answered and said to Nicodemus, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man be born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jn 3:5 Christ answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit [born of the Spirit (born from above)] he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jn 3:7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, `You must be born from above’

Jn 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit [born from above].

1 Cor. 15:50 Now this I say, brethren [the church], that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

Christ (the Messiah) was the second man (Adam) (1 Cor 15:45), Christ was tempted as everyone is tempted, yet he did not sin (Heb 4:15), Christ did not sin because he was born of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit protected Christ from sin, and the Holy Spirit protects those who are born from above (born of the Spirit) from sin, that’s why those who are born from above don’t practice sin.

Heb 4:15 For we [the church] have not an high priest [Christ] which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

The New Testament makes it very clear that a Christian does not practice sin, if anyone that claims to be Christian practices any of the things that are listed in 1 Cor. 6:9-10 & Gal 5:19-21, they are not born of God (Christian).

1 Cor. 6:9 – do you [those who are born from above (Christian)] not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators [those who have sex outside marriage], nor idolaters [an image worshiper], nor adulterers [a man who is guilty with a married woman, a man who lusts after (covets) another man’s wife (Matt 5:28)], nor effeminate [a man who submits his body to unnatural lewdness], nor homosexuals [any person engaging in same-gender sexual activity],

1 Cor. 6:10 – nor thieves [a thief in secret, rather than in the open with violence, an embezzler, a pilferer] nor {the} covetous [greedy of gain, a defrauder, trampling on the rights of others], nor drunkards, nor revilers [reproach (reviling) , injuring another’s reputation by denigrating, abusive insults] nor swindlers [a robber,  an extortioner] will inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal. 5:19 – Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality [fornication, whoredom, surrendering of sexual purity, any (every) type of promiscuity, sex outside marriage], impurity [in a moral sense, the impurity of lustful, luxurious, profligate living],  sensuality [lewdness],

Gal. 5:20 – idolatry [image worship], sorcery [the practice of magical arts], enmities [hostility, hatred], strife [a contentious spirit, affection for dispute], jealousy [rivalry], outbursts of anger [anger that comes from the flesh, selfish anger], disputes [selfish rivalry, self-seeking], dissensions [divisions which wrongly divide people into pointless factions], factions [a self-chosen opinion, a religious or philosophical sect, discord or contention].

Gal. 5:21 – envying [being glad when someone experiences misfortune or pain],  murders [intentional unjustified homicide], drunkenness [deep drinking, intoxication] carousing [unbridled sexual immorality, debauched partying] and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

A Christian is someone who believes Yeshua is the Messiah that no longer practices sin.

1 Jn 5:1 – Everyone who believes Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God [born of the Spirit].

1 Jn 3:9 – No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God [born of the Spirit].

1 Jn 5:18 – We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God [born of the Spirit] does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [Christ’s divine presence (the Holy Spirit) within him who is born of God preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [the spirit of the natural man] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].

The serpent that deceived Eve was Adam, then after Adam accused God for his (Adam’s sin), Adam became the devil (false accuser).

There is no verse in the Bible that says the serpent was the devil (false accuser), the devil (false accuser) didn’t exist until Adam accused God for his (Adam’s) sin.
