Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen

In Matt 7:13, Christ says “many” will go the way of destruction, the “many” that Christ speaks of are people that believe Yeshua is the Messiah that don’t stop practicing sin, the “many”, are not people that don’t believe in the Messiah.

The “few” that are chosen, are the people that believe Yeshua is the Messiah that don’t practice sin, those people are the people that the Messiah speaks of in Matthew 7:14.

Matthew 7:13 – Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious {and} broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it.

Matthew 7:21 – Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.

The will of God that the Messiah speaks of, is not to practice sin (1 John 3:9 & 1 John 5:18)

Matthew 7:22 – Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?

Matthew 7:23 –  And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].

Matthew 22:14 – For many are called (invited and summoned), but few {are} chosen.

Matthew 7:14 – But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened {and} compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.

Only those who are born from above stop practicing sin.

No one has to say a prayer, confess sin, or be water baptized to be born from above.

To be born from above, a person first has to believe Yeshua is the Messiah, and then, God willing, God will baptize the person in the Holy Spirit, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person stop practicing sin, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person born from above.

Here is a link to some of my posts that will explain more about the baptism in the Holy Spirit https://bornfromabove7.wordpress.com/category/baptism-in-the-holy-spirit/

The “many” that are called (Matthew 22:14) are the people that believe Yeshua is the Messiah that are not baptized in the Holy Spirit, they are not born from above, therefore the Messiah will deny them (Matthew 7:23)

1 John 5:1 – Everyone who believes Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God [born from above].

1 John 3:9 – No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God [born from above].

1 John 5:18 – We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [Christ’s divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].

  1. I’m not a fan of altar calls and prayer cards. They are thrust upon the recipient in a moment of emotion. If that’s all there was to it, everyone should sign their name on the dotted line.

Only the Holy Spirit can make converts. We shouldn’t pressure people with the enthusiasm of a bad infomercial pitchman.
