2 Peter 2:10-12 Is Not Talking About Fallen Angels

In 2 Peter 2:11 the Greek word for “angels”, “aggelos” is masculine & in 2 Peter 2:10 the Greek word for “dignities”, “doxa” is feminine, therefore the “dignities” in 2 Peter 2:10 are not the angels that are spoken of in 2 Peter 2:11.

2 Peter 2:10 – But chiefly them [masculine] that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities [feminine].

The church is the bride of Christ, therefore the church is feminine, the “dignities” that are spoken of in 2 Peter 2:10 are not angels, the “dignities” are the church.

2 Peter 2:10 is talking about men that speak evil of the church.

In 2 Peter 2:11 it says, angels (masculine) don’t bring a railing accusation against them (masculine), the word “them in 2 Peter 2:11 is referring to the men that speak evil of dignities in 2 Peter 2:10.

2 Peter 2:11 – Whereas angels [masculine], which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them [masculine] before the Lord.

2 Peter 2:11 is saying, the angels of God do not bring railing accusation against the men that are spoken of in 2 Peter 2:10, that speak evil of dignities

2 Peter 2:12 – But these [men]! Like unreasoning beasts, mere creatures of instinct, born [only] to be captured and destroyed, railing at things of which they are ignorant, they shall utterly perish in their [own] corruption [in their destroying they shall surely be destroyed]

The statement, “railing at things of which they are ignorant]” in 2 Peter 2:12 is referring to the “dignities” that are spoken of in 2 Peter 2:10, 2 Peter 2:12 is speaking about the men that speak evil of the church (dignities) that are spoken of in 2 Peter 2:10.

It is often said that 2 Peter 2:10-12 is talking about fallen angels that speak of evil of the angels of God, but that teaching can’t be true because the Greek word “doxa” for the word “dignities” in 2 Peter 2:10 is feminine gender, while the Greek word “aggelos” for the word “angels” in 2 Peter 2:11 is masculine gender, which means that the “dignities” in 2 Peter 2:10 are not the “angels” that are spoken of in 2 Peter 2:11.

The truth is, 2 Peter 2:10-12 is not talking about fallen angels that speak evil of the angels of God, 2 Peter 2:10-12 is talking about men that speak evil about the church.
