The Carnal Mind Is The Adversary Of God

The carnal mind is the flesh, the flesh is the Satan (adversary) / Devil (false accuser) of God. Romans 8:7 The carnal mind is hostile toward God: for it doesn’t subject itself to the law of God, for it isn’t even able to do so.

The natural man is led by the flesh, the flesh will never choose to obey God, that is why a person must be born of the Spirit (born from above) to be able to obey God, it is the Spirit that makes a person obey God.

Romans 8:5-9 – For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

8:6 – For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

8:7 – Because the carnal mind is hostile toward God: for it doesn’t subject itself to the law of God, for it isn’t even able to do so.

8:8 – So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

8:9 – But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

To be born of the Spirit, a person first has to believe Yeshua is the Messiah, and then, God willing, God will baptize the person in the Holy Spirit.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is what makes a person born of God. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is the repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:16-18).

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is what makes a person stop practicing sin.

1 John 5:1 Whosoever believes Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God.

1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God.

1 John 5:18 – We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God [born of the Spirit] does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [Christ’s divine presence (the Holy Spirit) within him who is born of God preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [the natural man] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].
