Rev 1:8 Doesn’t Say Christ Is God

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Yeshua the Messiah, which God gave to the Messiah to show to his servants things which must quickly come to pass.

From the 1st verse of Revelation, it’s clear that the Messiah is not God.

In the world today there are many people that claim to be Christian that say Revelation 1:8 is talking about the Messiah, but Revelation 1:4 -5 makes it very clear that Revelation 1:8 is speaking about God, not the Messiah.

Rev 1:4-5 John to the seven churches [seven groups of people] that are in Asia: Grace and peace, from Him [God] who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven spirits who are before His [God’s] throne; and from Yeshua the Messiah, the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

In Rev 1:4 John says “who is and who was and who is to come” about God, therefore the words that are spoken in Rev 1:8 are from God, not the Messiah.

Rev 1:8 I am the Alpha and Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

The teaching that says, “the Messiah is God “is false.

The truth is, the Messiah was a man born of the Spirit of God, that is what made the Messiah and God one, God was in the Messiah by the Spirit that dwelled in the Messiah (2 Cor. 5:19)

2 Cor 5:19 God was in the Messiah reconciling the [chosen] world unto Himself.

John 8:40 but now you seek to kill me, a man that has told you the truth, which I have heard from God.

No one has to believe the Messiah is God to be born of God, also known as born of the Spirit, a person that believes Yeshua is the Messiah that no longer practices sin is born of God, those who believe Yeshua is the Messiah and are baptized in the Holy Spirit stop practicing sin.The baptism in the Holy Spirit is what leads a person to repentance.

Those who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah that don’t stop practicing sin are not born of the Spirit,  those are the people that the Messiah says he will deny, in Matthew 7:21-23.

1 John 5:1 Whosoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God.

1 Jn 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed [the Holy Spirit] abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God.

Revelation 5:7 is another verse that proves Christ is not God, here’s a link to my post entitled “Rev 5:7”, that will explain more.
