One Lord, One God

Ephesians 4:5-6 One Lord [Yeshua the Messiah], one faith, one baptism [the Holy Spirit], one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all [in all who are born of the Spirit]

If the teaching that says “The Messiah is God” is true, then all who are born of the Spirit are God too because God is in those who are born of the Spirit, just as God was in Yeshua the Messiah (2 Cor 5:19).

2 Cor 5:19 God was in the Messiah reconciling the world [the chosen world] unto Himself

God made man in the image of God (Gen 1:27), but the first man, Adam, the natural man sinned, the second man, Yeshua the Messiah is the invisible image of God (Col 1:15), the second man did not sin, if Yeshua the Messiah is God, then Adam was also God because both men were created in the image of God

Gen 1:27 And God created man in His own image

Revelation 3:14 These things says the A-men, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God

The creation that Yeshua the Messiah speaks of in Revelation 3:14 is the born of the Spirit man, the born of the Spirit man is the invisible image of God, Yeshua the Messiah was the first born of the Spirit man, therefore Yeshua the Messiah is the invisible image of God

Colossians 1:15 And he [Yeshua the Messiah] is the invisible image of God

1 Cor. 15:21-22 for since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in the Messiah all [who are born of the Spirit] shall be made alive

In John 4:24 Yeshua the Messiah says that God is Spirit, Yeshua the Messiah was not a Spirit, Yeshua the Messiah was a man, therefore he was and is not God

Yeshua the Messiah was a man that was born of the Spirit that saved the people that God gave him to save, from their sins.

John 17:2 even as You [God] gave him [Yeshua the Messiah] authority over all flesh, that to all that You have given him, he may give eternal life.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man the Messiah Yeshua

John 17:3 And this is eternal life that they may know you, the only true God, and Yeshua the Messiah whom You have sent

Yeshua the Messiah was a man born of the Spirit, Yeshua the Messiah was one with God by the Spirit that dwelled in him, God was in the Messiah by the Spirit that dwelled in the Messiah, and God is in those who are born of the Spirit, just as God was in the Messiah.

John 17:21 that they [those who are born of the Spirit] may all be one; even as You Father, are in me, and I in You, that they may also be in us.

Matthew 1:20 for that which is begotten in her [Mary] is of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, wherein it was weak through the flesh, God did: sending His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh [man] as an offering for sin.

John 8:40 but now you seek to kill me, a man that has told you the truth, which I have heard from God.

The Spirit protected Yeshua the Messiah from sin and the Spirit protects those who are born of the Spirit from sin, that is why no one born of God [born of the Spirit] practices sin (1 John 3:9)

1 John 3:9 No one born of God practices sin

1John 5:1 Whosoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God [born of the Spirit]

Phil 2:13 For it is God which works in you [in those who are born of the Spirit] both to will and to do of the good pleasure.

A popular verse that many people use to say Christ is God, is Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:8 is not saying Christ is God, here’s a link to my post entitled “Revelation 1:8 Doesn’t Say Christ Is God”, that will explain more.

  2. THE DEFINITION AND PURPOSE OF WATER BAPTISM BY STEVE FINNELL

What is the definition and the purpose of water baptism under the New Covenant?

    THE DEFINITION?

Baptism as defined in the Scriptures.

Acts 8:36 And, as they went on their way they came to a certain water; and the eunuch said, Look, here is water; what is there to hinder me from being immersed? (Ref: The Better Version of The New Testament by Chester Estes)

The definition of baptism is to be immersed in water.

Acts 8:36 As they went along the road they came to some water;and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” (Ref: NASB)

The definition of water baptism under the New Covenant is immersion in water.

Romans 6:4 We were, therefore, buried with him by immersion into that death; that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, thus we also should walk in newness of life. (Ref: TBVOTNT by Chester Estes)

In water baptism, believers in Christ are buried by immersion in water. This symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. (Ref: NASB)

To be buried through baptism makes it clear that water baptism is immersion. Men cannot be buried under a sprinkle or by having water poured over them.

Colossians 2:12 Having been buried with him by immersion, by which also you were raised up with him, through the belief of the strong working of God, who raised him from the dead. (Ref: TBVOTNT by Chester Estes)

Water baptism is a burial by immersion.

Colossians 2:12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. (Ref: NASB)

Baptism is a burial by immersion.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF WATER BAPTISM?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Let each one of you repent and be immersed, in the name of Jesus Christ, in order to the remission of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Ref: The Better Version Of The New Testament by Chester Estes)

One purpose of water baptism is in order to have sin forgiven.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Ref: NASB)

A reason to be baptized in water is so your sins may be forgiven.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been immersed into Christ, have put on Christ. (Ref: TBVOTNT by Chester Estes)

One purpose of water baptism is to put on Christ.

Galatians 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (Ref: NASB)

A purpose for water baptism is so men can be clothed with Christ.

Mark 16:16 He who has believed, and has been immersed, will be saved….. (Ref: TBVOTNT by Chester Estes)

A purpose of water baptism is in order to be saved.

Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved…. (Ref: NASB)

One reason to be baptized in water is so that you may be saved from the punishment of your sins.

YES, WATER BAPTISM (IMMERSION IN WATER) IS ESSENTIAL TO BE SAVED.

    • Sorry Steve, but Acts 11:16-18 doesn’t agree with your teaching, the non-Jews in Acts 11:16-18 were baptized in the Holy Spirit, the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the repentance that leads to life, Acts 11:18 makes that very clear. Also Eph 4:5 makes it very clear that there is only one baptism, not 2, the baptism that saves man, is the baptism in the Holy Spirit, not water baptism, no one has to be water baptized to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Eph 4:5 one Lord [Yeshua the Messiah], one faith, one baptism [baptism in the Holy Spirit],

Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them [the non-Jews] just as {He did} upon us at the beginning

Acts 11:16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he used to say, `John baptized with water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Acts 11:17 Therefore if God gave to them [the non-Jews] the same gift as {He gave} to us also after believing in the Lord Yeshua Christ [the Messiah], who was I that I could stand in God’s way

Acts 11:18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles [non-Jews] also the repentance {that leads} to life.

1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we [those who are born from above] were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

Mark 16:16 He who has believed [I (Yeshua) am the Messiah)] and has been baptized [in the Holy Spirit] shall be saved.

To be born from above, God must first give someone the faith to believe that His Son, Yeshua is the Messiah, and then, God willing, God will baptize the person in the Holy Spirit, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person stop practicing sin, it is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that makes a person born from above, without the baptism in the Holy Spirit no one is born of God.

Only those who believe Yeshua is the Messiah (the Christ) that stop practicing sin are born from above (born of God).

1 Jn 5:1 Whoever believes that Yeshua is the Christ is born of God [born from above].

1 Jn 3:9 No one who is born of God [born from above] practices sin, because His seed abides in him or her; and he or she cannot sin, because he or she is born of God [born from above].

1 Jn 5:18 We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God [born from above] does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over {and} protects him [Christ’s divine presence (the Holy Spirit) within him who is born from above preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [the natural man] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him {or} touch [him].
