If the saying, “confess with your mouth Yeshua is Lord, & you will be saved”, is true, then how can someone who cannot speak be saved? Clearly Romans 10:9-10 is not talking about how someone becomes born from above, it is talking about someone who God has already sealed with the Holy Spirit, it is only by having the gift of the Holy Spirit that someone can confess Yeshua is Lord & believe from the heart God raised Yeshua from the dead.
Romans 10:9-10 is not a confession that leads to salvation, there is nothing anyone can say or do to be saved, Ephesians 2:8 confirms that truth.
Romans 10:9-10 is a declaration confirming a person is already born of the Spirit.
During the time that Paul wrote the Book of Romans, God’s people were being put to death for publicly denying Caesar is lord & declaring Yeshua is Lord, therefore in context, what Paul is saying is, if you confess with your mouth “Yeshua is Lord & believe from the heart that God raised Yeshua from the dead”, that when it comes time for you to die for denying Caesar is lord & declare Yeshua is Lord, you will be saved.”
In Romans 10:9-10, Paul is confirming how someone will know they are already born of the Spirit, he is not saying how someone becomes born of the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:8 -9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith [God’s divine persuasion] and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
The Greek for the word “faith” in Ephesians 2:8 is “pistis” that word means, “be persuaded”. “Faith is always a gift from God, & never something that can be produced by people. In short “pistis” (“faith”) for the believer is ‘God’s divine persuasion’.”
1 John 5:1 Whosoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God [born of the Spirit].
1 John 3:9 No one born of God practices sin.
No one has to say anything to be born of the Spirit (John 3:8)
John 3:8 – The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going, so it is with everyone born of the Spirit. – Yeshua the Messiah
